Flood Update: June 2008
Programme updateYou will be pleased to hear that we are now in the final phases of repair works to your homes. For those of you that this affects, we understand this has been a long period of waiting but want to reassure you that we are keen to get work underway and completed so that we can get you back in your home as soon as possible. Amendment to last flood newsletter In the last edition we incorrectly said that walls would be given one coat of magnolia paint. We apologise as they will actually have one preparation coat and then two further coats of magnolia. Pangbourne meetingWe are now on the final phase of repair works in Pangbourne with the last eight households due to be moved out very soon so that work can start. Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, we will be holding a drop in meeting at The Surestart Centre on Friday 4th July 2008 from 2pm to 4pm. We will also contact you nearer the time with details of a meeting in August. Counselling support availableIf you are still feeling effects emotionally as a result of last year’s floods, funding has been set aside for GP surgeries to offer counselling. If you are interested or know of someone who may benefit, contact Mary Blackett at West Berkshire Council on 01635 503306 for further details. Practical advice on moving and returning home
Your viewsWe have received some very positive feedback from residents who have already moved back home. Your comments included that the work was of good quality and that the helpful attitude of the contractors made the whole experience more comfortable. We will pass your comments on! Thank you also to those of you who have complimented staff at Sovereign, particularly those who have supported you throughout this process. It is always good to get your positive and negative feedback. It helps us learn where we are doing things right and where we can improve.
