A fair deal for disabled people – getting views from our residents

Woman in wheelchair

Did you know that there are over 10 million disabled people in the UK?

The Housing Corporation (the body that regulates us) has recognised that it, and associations like ours, still have much to do to:

  • make services more inclusive to disabled people;
  • make housing more accessible to disabled people; and
  • make sure we involve disabled people – and that the results of that involvement meet their needs and aspirations.

We are developing a Disability Equality Scheme which will set out how we intend to make sure that we deliver all our services without discrimination and how we can expand our knowledge and understanding of the barriers disabled people face in their lives.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to help improve our services. If you, or someone in your household, is disabled, we would like to hear from you about what we do now and how we could do better.

Please click here to fill in our short survey. We will treat your responses confidentially.

We are also holding events in November, and would like to invite you to come and give more feedback on how we could improve specific services for disabled people. If you are interested in attending, please contact Nicola von Kotze, Resident Participation Officer on 01635 572125.
