The party’s over for neighbours from hell

Together - Tackling anti-social behaviour

spacer Life for residents on a Christchurch housing estate is getting back to normal after two more 'neighbours from hell' were evicted in Somerford.

Last Friday, Twynham Housing Association evicted 26-year-old Michael Potter from his flat in Malvern Court, after a sustained campaign of antisocial behaviour, including assaulting neighbours and damaging property. Bournemouth County Court had already backed Twynham with an Antisocial Behaviour Injunction banning Mr Potter from causing further harassment to his neighbours.

This eviction was only successful after three residents had given Twynham Housing Association witness statements and one tenant supported the Association by attending court and giving evidence. The eviction follows the unrelated eviction a week earlier of Christopher Heyward in nearby flat in Edward Road, after persistent harassment of his neighbour.

Resident Services Leader Winston Nelson said: “These men made their neighbours life a misery with unacceptable behaviour over many months. Our residents enjoy a good community spirit in Somerford, which is undermined by the poor behaviour of a handful. Hopefully, they now realise where this will lead unless they show more consideration for neighbouring families and individuals.”

Twynham has responded to complaints from residents by evicting two other tenants in Christchurch earlier this year for anti social behaviour, all of whom will now find it extremely difficult to find a home with another social landlord.
