Residents get more with Sovereign
Berkshire’s biggest landlord has launched an exciting new customer reward scheme to say a big thank you to residents who keep their homes tidy and pay their rent on time. Sovereign Housing Group is signing up model residents to set an example to their communities. They can win bikes, England football shirts, family days out, and garden makeovers, simply by staying out of arrears and taking good care of their homes. Interest from residents has been overwhelming since the “More” scheme launched a week ago, and if rent arrears and unnecessary repair bills come down, Sovereign will have more funds to improve services on local estates. Resident Participation Manager Nick Cross said: “Most of our residents comply fully with their tenancies, and we’re expecting many of them will want to take part. But even if we can persuade a few households with small arrears, or who let their properties go, the significant savings will benefit everyone.” Typically, Sovereign has to spend £2,200 cleaning and repairing empty homes for reletting, so residents who leave a property clean and tidy, and return the keys, will also receive £200 cashback. And households will be removed from the scheme if they commit antisocial behaviour. Also, residents have to keep appointments with housing officers and maintenance teams, not let their rent account go into the red, and allow viewings when they’re moving out. Together, these measures will ensure Sovereign can rehouse local people from the waiting list faster. Any Sovereign resident interested in joining the scheme should contact Janet Byron, Customer Feedback Coordinator on 01635 572262 or click here for more information. Published 3 May 2006 |
