Twynham Housing Association, a leading provider of social housing in Dorset and southern Hampshire, has just been accredited with Investors in People (IIP) status.

Investors in People status is only given to organisations after they have undergone close scrutiny of how well they train, develop and support their employees to meet the needs of the business - from an organisation’s management techniques to its recruitment policies and how it communicates with staff.

The IIP assessors judged Twynham as meeting their high national standards and as having a “significant focus on customer service”.

Twynham Managing Director Marion Franks said: “We are delighted with this award. It reflects the considerable work put in by all our staff and is another milestone in our rapid development. When the IIP assessor first visited us, we were going through a major transition and restructuring programme. This award means that we have more than met our recent objectives.”

In reaching their decision to award IIP status to Twynham, the assessors especially noted that senior management in the organisation show “clear determination for success” and “widespread business acumen”.

Marion Franks added: “Whilst our IIP status says a lot about how we work internally, we have to balance this with the broader business of how we deal with our external customers. We’re also committed to continuous improvement to meet the very mixed needs of our residents, as they are the final judges of how well we’re doing as a provider of social housing.”
