Sovereign Housing Group Limited

Sovereign Housing Group Limited (SHG) was set up in April 2005 as the group's parent organisation. It provides corporate support services, such as development and finance expertise, to other members of the group.

In April 2008 it became charitable and is registered with the Financial Services Authority as a charitable industrial and provident society under the 1974 Housing Act. It is also registered with the Housing Corporation, which finances and oversees the activities of housing associations.

Sovereign Housing Association Limited (SHA) was set up in 1989 and is based in Newbury, Berkshire. It began as West Berkshire Housing Association, taking the transfer of 7,109 properties from the District Council. Since then it has grown and spread and now owns and manages more than 11,500 homes for rent and low cost home ownership in the south and south west of England.

At 31 March 2007, the Association employed 289 staff and had an annual turnover of nearly £52 million.

The Association is a charitable industrial and provident society and it is registered with the Housing Corporation as a Registered Social Landlord or RSL.

Twynham Housing Association Limited

Twynham Housing Association is based in Christchurch near Bournemouth in Dorset and was set up in 1989. In 1991 the large-scale voluntary transfer of 1,600 homes took place from Christchurch Borough Council.

Twynham now owns and manages 2,500 properties across Dorset and Hampshire, primarily providing general family accommodation for rent. It also manages Sovereign HA's 1,000 rented homes in these counties. It is a charitable industrial and provident society and registered with the Housing Corporation.

Abingdon-based Vale Housing Association owns over 5,300 properties in Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire. With housing offices in Abingdon and Wantage and a centrally-based repairs service, the Association prides itself on offering quality, efficient services to its customers.

The Vale Housing Association is a charitable industrial and provident society and is registered with the Housing Corporation as a Registered Social Landlord.
